Furnishings Direct is proud to have been selected as one of the few dealers nationwide to carry the complete collection of exclusively licensed Frank Lloyd Wright furniture.  This furniture is hand crafted from the original drawings and actual furniture of Mr. Wright and is the only furniture licensed by the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.

Based on original drawings and furnishings created during Wright's Prairie Period (late 1800's - early 1900's), each dining room, living room, and bedroom piece is at once a work of art and historical reflection.

Each piece bears the signature of Frank Lloyd Wright, its completion date, and registered serial number.  In addition, you will receive a certificate of authenticity bearing your unique serial number.

The entire collection has been posted below by category for your review.  What follows are some construction features of the furniture followed by the four major categories of the collection.  Click on the category of interest and the product details within each category will be available for you to review.

We have presented here some of the construction features of the collection.  All items are available in sold quarter sawn oak or solid cherry in two finishes  (barrel chair only available in cherry).

Select Solid Hardwoods - Frank Lloyd Wright Furniture by Copeland starts with solid hardwood (cherry and white oak) from the Northern Forests.  The white oak is quartersawn to reveal a ray-fleck in the grain.  This time consuming process is essential to obtaining distinctive wood characteristics and adds stability.

Miter-Wrap Construction - In Wright's day, craftsmen achieved the bold, sturdy tabletops of thick-cut hardwood with woodworking techniques that are all but forgotten today.  Copeland has revived miter-wrap construction for tabletops that present 2 inches or more at the edge - enabling the wood grain from the top to continue over ends and sides.

English Dovetails - Asymmetrical English dovetails form perfect, rigid fits for drawer cand case pieces.  Copeland makes these intricate cuts utilizing precise, computer programmed machining.

Superior Drawer Construction - Drawers, with sides of solid ash and bottoms of birch plywood, are all fully finished.  They are mounted on three "wood-on-wood" slides - one on each side and at the center - and are fitted with drawer stops.  Copeland also dovetails drawer dividers - rare in furniture today.

Durable, Hand Wiped Finishes - Labor intensive and-rubbing incorporates stain pigments and highlights grain definition in each piece.  Copeland Furniture uses only catalyzed lacquer finishes that meet the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association's high standards.  They withstand tough stains and age beautifully.

Each piece bears Frank Lloyd Wright's signature, a unique serial number, and the date it was completed.
